When starting work on the scripts, I knew I needed to do quite a
lot of research for each objects so the content is accurate. I used the '100 Objects
That Made Kent' website, which Rachel gave me access too, while also reading books they gave me during one
of our meetings.
I decided that it would be easier and less complicated for me to
focus on one script at a time.
Prisoner of War, Ship Model
For this script, I needed to do a
little bit more research to enable the sense of a Hulk prison ship and to get
factual information. Rachel and previously given me a few hand outs that had
some research about the object, so I used that along with the research that was
the website and other sources online.
I started by talking about the Hulk
ships, as I wanted the audience to understand what these were before going into
the model itself as it needed some background. It starts with a description on
what being on the ships was like, followed by what the prisoners did for work,
leading on to the prisoners making models to sell.
Once the model is mentioned and
introduced, there will be artistic visuals of the ship, showing off the details
of it and the different aspects of the ship. These aspects, like the cannons
and what it is made out of, are mentioned throughout the voice over so the audience can see the ship while also hearing about it at the same time.
The script will then say why the prisoners made those models and it will end the video with a sentence that rounds up the importance of the model itself.
Then, similar to the Paperweight script, text will appear on screen saying what the object is and where it can be found - which is the Guildhall Museum.

I am going to send this
script to Rachel so if her and Jeremy want to change anything or adjust any of
the words they can.
