Pitch | Development

We recently had our 'green light presentations' which was basically our pitch for our idea. This was done in front of our fellow classmates, Simon and director, Andrea Kappos. Knowing our audience we wanted to make sure our pitch was effective, humorous, and informative enough to get our idea across.

Our Pitch

This is the title page and it is the first slide to introduce our idea. The whole presentation has the colour scheme of our show, and this slide shows all of the colours through the background and the title. This is the title of our show in the font we will be using. Along with that, we have our production company logo at the bottom to show who is producing the show.

Myself and Nisserin presented this slide together. Nisserin did the 25 word pitch, which is the first two lines at the top of the slide. I told the plot of the series and what content the show will contain to inform the audience on the basis of our idea.

We all took turns in saying what our roles are and what our main objectives for our roles are.

Laura presented this slide about what shows inspired our idea, and what will carry on influencing us through the development of the idea.

This slide was mine to create and present. The first two slides present our two main characters, what their personalities are like and what I want their appearance to roughly be like. The last slide presents the neighbour characters, their personalities and a small background to their lives. These character profile insights give the audience an idea as to what all the characters will be like, in order to create a full sense of what the show will be like.

Nisserin created and presented the first two slides as these were under her job role as the DOP. I created and presented the last slide, which was under my role of Director. I summed up the ideas I want for the tone of the show and the directing style I will choose, to give the audience a better idea at to the look of the show.

Laura created and presented this slide, to inform the audience what locations we are planning on using for our shoots.

Laura created and presented this slide, to give an insight as to how casting for the show is going, and what she is planning on doing for advertisements of the roles.

Laura also created and presented this slide, to inform the audience what channel we are basing our show on.

I created and presented this slide. This slide basically told the audience what target audience we want for the show. This includes the age ranges, and the family aspect of the show, along with the reasons for these decisions.

Nisserin created and presented this slide to show what we had done in our first test shoot, and the camera's in which we are planning on using.

Both Nisserin and Laura presented this slide, to explain what plans and ideas we have for advertising the show.

Laura created and presented this slide to show her preparations for the budget of the show.

Myself and Laura presented this slide to show our plans for how many pages we want for the script and the duration of the pilot. We also explained we wanted the pilot to be part of a 6 part series and how many drafts we want to have done by the end of the term. We also mentioned our plann to do treatments for the other episodes.

We ended the presentation by answering any questions asked by the audience. We all thought we had presented our idea really well, and everyone had a good sense as to what we wanted our outcome to be like. We still have some room for development, but this will be done throughout the weeks. We also had a first draft of our script written which we gave to Simon and Andrea, so they could read and give feedback afterwards.

I think our pitch went really well, it radiated the comedy aspect of the show and it was entertaining for the audience, which was our aim.
