Wix (Website) | Research

Wix is a website where people can create their own website creations for free. It was founded in 2006 by Avishai Abrahami, Nadav Abrahami and Giora Kaplan and was discovered purely by accident while trying to set up a website for another idea of theirs.
It has over 90 million users across 190 countries and anyone can create a website for personal use or for their brand.
They also have premium services which you have to pay for, but the model still allows them to provide complete websites for free.

As a group, we decided to use wix when creating our website as its free but also a few of us had used it before, and liked it. For our brand it was the best option as we were able to have free reign with our layout, colours and content, which is obviously what we wanted.
